|Face-to-face OR real-time learning via Zoom
Includes interactive photography classes, workshops and tutorials, demonstrations and practical participation. Whether you choose to study face-to-face OR online in real-time via Zoom, all PSC students receive the same level of teacher guidance and support.
International students can study this program online from outside Australia via Zoom but are not currently eligible to obtain a student visa for this course but can later apply for one if pursuing their studies into the Bachelor of Photography.
The Undergraduate Certificate of Photography provides pathways into further study or employment. Once you have completed the course, you are eligible to gain direct entry into Semester 2 of the 1st year of the Bachelor of Photography degree. The course provides you with 30 credit points of the 180 credit points required for the Bachelor of Photography qualification. Alternatively, it will prepare you for support roles in photography and the creative industries such as working as a photography assistant, cataloguing digital content, digital retouching, or being a visual editing assistant.
The Undergraduate Certificate of Photography is an exciting newly accredited fully FEE-HELP enabled higher education course that provides a comprehensive introductory tertiary level photographic qualification. During a 6 month period, you will cover all the technical aspects needed to produce creative photographic images, ensuring you gain comprehensive skills in camera craft and digital postproduction. By exploring a range of photographic genres and visual approaches, you will develop your own photography practice, as well as learning about the history of photography and the influence it has had on contemporary photographic styles
You can choose to study face to face on campus or in real time via Zoom using our flexible remote delivery option. This option is perfectly suited for students who are regional or interstate with Australia and prefer to study more economically in the comfort of their homes or International students within +2 or -3 time zones from Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST).
Current travel restrictions on International students prevent entry to Australia until sometime (yet to be determined) in 2021. This is therefore a perfect alternative! You can commence studying an Australian accredited course while still in your home country, without the immediate costs of travel and re-locating. You can gain a qualification after 6 months, while positioning yourself to continue into the Bachelor of Photography course with advanced standing and come to Australia once the borders open and we can once again welcome international arrivals into Australia.
PSC is a community of experienced practitioners and educators with national and international profiles in the areas of documentary, photojournalism, art, commercial photography, photobook publishing, curation and photographic theory.
All applicants should complete and submit the Undergraduate Certificate of Photography.
Applicants for the course are required to demonstrate appropriate levels of English language proficiency consistent with studying in tertiary education. Upon receiving your application, you will be contacted to arrange your individual discussion and show some current examples of your photography.
