On location in Paris with professional photographer and PSC lecturer Elli Ioannou Providing international industry level production, including live models, stylist, hair/make up and 2 locations in the heart of Paris. Delivered over 3 full yet exciting days, Elli will cover : visual storytelling , concept development , directing + model direction , pre and post production , marketing the editorial to develop your brand. Whilst the workshop will address essential photographic techniques of lighting and composition , the focus is less technical and more about concept development and creative exploration of fashion editorial narratives. |
Establish your career using the fashion editorial platform On completion of the workshop , participants will have produced and created a professional level fashion editorial in Paris, creating a body of work for their portfolio of an international standard. Understood and applied the importance of storytelling ‘narratives ‘ within fashion photography. Gained an understanding of how the fashion editorial contributes to establishing a career as a photographer . Fashion photography is relevant to art , commercial +documentary genres . Many art photographers have been commissioned for fashion work for their unique and fresh perspective, or documentary style . Committing to undertake both the Paris fashion week street-style and Narratives of Fashion Editorial Photography provides a unique opportunity to gain diverse knowledge and experience of the fashion photography industry on an international level. |
The photographic image has always been and still is about story telling - a narrative within a single image used within photojournalism and advertising or in editorial context using a series of 3-6 or 12 images published in magazines.
The emphasis of the immersive workshop with Elli Ioannou is on the core structure of fashion editorials driven by specific themes and narratives , which will inform and drive the aims of the fashion shoot on Day 02. The workshop explores the notion of narrative and storytelling through fashion photography as visual communication. Delivered over 3 days in Paris -the city of fashion and the birth of photography.
Using exclusive locations in the heart of Paris, the workshop incorporates art and architecture. In addition , Elli also addresses the role of the fashion editorial as a powerful business tool in establishing the photographic career for emerging photographers.
On completion of the workshop , participants will have produced and created a professional level fashion editorial in Paris, adding an international level contribution to their portfolio. Understood and applied the importance of storytelling ‘narratives ‘ within fashion photography.

PHOTOGRAPHY LEVEL beginners to intermediate photography . Must be over 18years old .

DSLR + lenses 35-105 / standard 50m (a guide only )

Elli is comfortable as an artist working in both the commercial & art photography worlds. With 18 yrs experience in advertising photography specialising in fashion. Her creative repertoire includes: photography and video director, photo media editor and creative mentor.. Best known for her fashion campaigns and backstage images, Elli is also carving a niche for herself in contemporary video art.
Born in Cyprus, raised in Australia, Elli now resides in Paris, France. Elli is an officially accredited media with Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode. Covering men's, women's and couture Paris fashion week with Design Art Magazine.
Elli has over 7 years of teaching experience in higher education Australia (at PSC!) and in France. She taught Fashion Photography at Parsons Paris- The New School, and MA Fashion Film & Photography at Paris College of Art.
Elli has written and successfully delivered workshops including ‘Paris Fashion Week- Street Style FashionPhotography since 2017.
Her images have appeared in premium public and trade magazines including Marie Claire, Votre Beaute (Greece), Surface (US),Inside (Australia), Il Tridente (Maserati, Italy), I-D Online, & Design-Art Magazine (Italy.)

This workshop is designed for photographers at all levels who have a passion for fashion, travel and improving their image making. All participants are expected to have basic-intermediate Digital SLR camera skills and working knowledge of their computer. Participants must be 18 years of age or over All participants must have their own travel insurance arrangements in place |
