Kick start your photography career with our real-world focus!
This is the beginning of your journey – at this level you are provided with an intensive and highly practical hands on learning experience. You will build your industry know-how and best practice through visual and technical literacy, ongoing image feedback, problem solving scenarios and collaborative learning. You are encouraged to connect with industry through awards, networks, mentors, exhibitions and your industry expert teaching team. You may find work as a photographer or photographic assistant in areas including social media content, commercial, editorial, wedding and portrait photography.

Summary

Certificate IV in Photography & PhotoImaging

This is the beginning of your photographic journey – at this level you are provided with an intensive and highly practical hands on learning experience. You will explore over 12 months part time study; creative capture, digital workflow, video, apps, social media branding and digital image processing to create strong visual stories and compelling content.

You will learn to apply a range of essential photographic visual, technical and creative skills that take your images to the next level. You’ll be encouraged to publish and share your photography and visual content online in a professional and strategic way.

Application Procedure

Applications

All applicants should complete and submit the PSC Photography and 'Photo Imaging Course Application Form'

Submit the application form as outlined in the 'Application Process'.

Enrolment

Enrolment requires payment of a one off enrolment fee of $200.00.

2019 Course commencement

The course commences 18 February 2019 and will run 12 months part time study.

Entry Requirements

All applicants should complete and submit the PSC Photography and Photo Imaging Course Application Form. 

Applicant groups for these courses include:

  • Applicants with current and/or previous Yr 12 - VCAL and VCE or equivalent
  • Applicants with other vocational study in photography or related area
  • Applicants with work or relevant life experience
  • Mature Age

Interview

Once the completed form is received applicants will be contacted within 1 working days to attend an interview discussion and college tour

The interview is a short discussion and a way for us to get to know you and your interest, motivation and inspirations in photography and image making.

Literacy and pre-training review

All applicants are required to have achieved a level of Literacy. The Pre-training review process will be completed at interview.

Offers are made after the completion of the interview process.

Enrolment

Enrolment is for the duration of the course.

When you accept your offer you will complete the enrolment form indicating your tuition fee payment obligation. Tuition fee information is available on tis website below.

Recognition of prior learning and credit transfer

PSC will ensure that all prospective students with relevant prior experience (RPL) or academic studies (credit transfer) are advised of the possibility of having this prior experience and/or studies taken into consideration.

Training is delivered with Victorian and Commonwealth Government funding.

PSC is an approved Victorian Skills First Program provider.

  2. Are you eligible for the Victorian Skills First Program? AND, Do you hold a current and valid Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card or Veteran’s Gold Card issued by the Commonwealth?

There may be additional costs associated with enrolment in this course. Students must have a portable hard-drive and a mirrorless camera to participate. An Adobe Creative Cloud subscription (student discount available) is highly recommended for use off-campus.
