| PSC students and teachers are often winners of the prestigious AIPP Photography Awards at both state and national level. PSC SCOOPS PHOTOGRAPHY INDUSTRY EDUCATION AND TRAINING AWARDS Photography Studies College has recently scooped the 2005 photography education and training awards at the annual Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP) national awards held in Brisbane. PSC took out the Tertiary Institute of the Year award and Steve Young, a PSC commercial major student won the prestigious Australian Student Photographer of the Year.
Steve was thrilled and reflecting on his win said “Winning this award is certainly something out of the box, its great!” Now in his final year of the course Steve combines his photography with work commitments and has found that he really looks forward to his time at PSC. “You know, mixing with very creative students and talented lecturers is very inspirational. You see a continual flow of photographic work and that's an excellent way of getting the creative juices happening.” Steve went on to add “I guess the interest I had in photography three and a half years ago is now an absolute passion and I'm really looking forward to taking up the profession full time in the near future."
