TOM GOLDNER (Commercial graduate)

Tom tells us that at school he became intrigued by the life style of a photographer, he says, “it seemed attractive to me.” He remembers being both anxious and excited about commencing at PSC, “on the other hand I felt nervous about commencing a tertiary course but on the other I felt elated about new possibilities and opportunities.” Tom really enjoyed the final year commercial major, “this was a stage in my study where I noticed a big change in the quality of work being produced. I just loved being in a positive and creative environment.” Tom is currently doing a variety of commercial work from portraits, still life/product to models portfolios and sports photography, “I now want to further my career in the fashion/portrait area and really make my mark in this industry.” Tom feels that the final year really helped him to start thinking of photography as a business, “at the end of the day it’s your career, so it’s important to work at it and keep doing what you love.” His advice to other students, “you need to be interested and aware of what’s going on around you and make good use of all the people there to help you achieve your goals.”
