Victoria alone generates over 11 million tonnes of building waste annually with over 90 per cent ending up in landfill, polluting ground water and contaminating soil. “Our attitudes towards the temporary nature of our buildings reflects society’s attitudes to most other aspects of life today”, says Pam Morris, who shows us how at least some of the fine features and fitouts of the past are being preserved, restored and repurposed.
