Part of the PSC philosophy is to assist students with as much work experience as possible, as well as helping them to secure employment within the photography industry. To do this, we have established a job placement program, which matches students to jobs. This is based o the student’s experience, interests and abilities. Most work assignments are allocated to our recent graduates and final year students. This is a very successful program. Many of our employment requests come from within the industry. We are often the first point of contact for professional photographers seeking employees. Every month there are numerous requests for students to photograph a range of activities. This gives students an opportunity to gain valuable experience in professional photography. Regular requests include portfolios for dancers, models and/or hair and makeup artists, family portraits, weddings, special occasions, advertising photography, studio management and studio/photographer’s assistant. We also receive regular requests from galleries and cafes to exhibit students work.
