PSC 2012 Summer Exhibition

Each summer PSC showcases the exciting and innovative vision of the graduating students in its Summer exhibition held at the main campus 65 City Road Southbank. This year the 2012 Summer Show features work from each of the commercial, photojournalism and art major specialisations in a rich exhibition that is complex, challenging and quirky. To bring this year’s show to life we’re featuring an opening night video with student interviews, comments and feedback from international photojournalist Michael Coyne.

Here’s some thoughts from commercial graduating student Graeme Passmore

“ I feel pretty proud when I saw my work on display, I suppose it’s a little thank you to all the effort and hard work you put in and now you can watch people enjoy your work. It’s also good to stand back and reflect on how far you’ve come in the last 3 years, I would of never expected to be producing the work I am now back when I first arrived at PSC. Graduating is an exciting time, it’s a fresh start and really your career is only just beginning. I’ve learnt the skills I need from PSC and now it’s up to me to chase down my dreams and experience a long successful creative career”.

Plastic Pacific by Kim Preston

Kim Preston, a second year part time student at PSC, has created an underwater wonder-world in her series ‘Plastic Pacific’.  Focusing on the pollution of our oceans, Kim’s work sees a metamorphosis of everyday items into a suspended metaphors of aquatic grace.

Kim’s plastic sea creature series has recently been highlighted on the Feature Shoot blog and their facebook page.

There’s some wonderful work on this blog so be sure to check it out.

Well done Kim!
